Kailyn Hanlon is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Elegant Brief, a publication devoted to the intersection of law, fashion, etiquette, and cultivated living. An LL.B. candidate and Specialized Honours B.A. graduate of York University and Dean’s Scholar, she brings an interdisciplinary perspective informed by her studies in Medical Anthropology & Criminology, alongside her emerging legal career.

With a particular appreciation for timeless elegance, intellectual refinement, and the art of considered living, Kailyn established The Elegant Brief as a space for thoughtful discourse on the ways in which law, personal presentation, etiquette, and culture may converge with sophistication and purpose.

Charlene is a Toronto, Canada / London, UK-based journalist. A graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University Journalism & Criminology, her reporting focuses on human rights, international law, fashion and lifestyle. Inspired by her upbringing in a military family, Charlene quickly learned the importance of understanding and appreciation for different life experiences, which fuel her dedication to honesty and balanced reporting.

 

Find her at runways around the world or with a microphone in hand outside a court room, sometimes in the same day! In her spare time, Charlene can be found at home baking, visiting beauty pop ups and exclusive events or relaxing by the ocean in her home province of Newfoundland! 

Sofia Sommer is a Santa Catarina, Brazil-born legal scholar currently based in Argentina. Her academic journey began in law, with a particular focus on intellectual property and copyright law. With a keen interest in the intersection of law, creativity, and authorship, Sofia brings a thoughtful perspective to her work as Senior Editor.

In her spare time, Sofia can be found reading, editing publications, or exploring new ideas through literature. Looking ahead, she hopes to pursue a Master of Law (LL.M.) in either Italy or Spain, further expanding her legal knowledge and international perspective.

Elena Albrecht is a Contributing Editor at The Elegant Brief and has worked alongside the founder of Elegant Ladies by Kailyn since its inception. Fluent in English and German, she assists with German translations and has played a valued role in the brand’s development from its earliest days. Her interests lie in European culture, literature, and the art of refined living, all of which complement the publication’s appreciation for timeless elegance and thoughtful expression.

In her spare time, Elena enjoys reading, discovering new literary works, and embracing the quieter pleasures of everyday life. Through her contributions, she hopes to celebrate the beauty of tradition, cultural exchange, and the little details that make life more meaningful.
